as the electricty goes out in my apartment yesterday night, plunging my place into a total pitch-black darkness and leaving me without candles for light, i am forced to simply shower by flashlight and go to bed early. as i lay in bed not particularily sleepy, surrounded my blurry shadows cast by lights from the apartemnts across me (my apartment's electricty goes out due to a circut break), i attempt to quiet my thoughts and persuade myself to sleep. i am suddenly struck however, by what seems to me then, a chain reaction of thoughts which leaves me nowhere near where i started, and i hope now to try and record these trains-of-thought whenever i should have them.
early bedtime/no electricity -> asian popsicles.
i am forced to go to bed early, due to the no electricity factor -> i wasn't able to read -> i didn't get to review my architectural theory notes -> i'll have to review them before class -> i also have to meet with emily before class for sociology -> i'll have to tell emily i don't have my sociology notes because i lent them to ian -> not too many guy names begin with the letter i -> issac -> issac newton -> wasn't there an issac newton otter pop? it was the green flavored one -> anyone remember otter pops? i haven't had one in ages -> as a kid, i had a strange addiction to otter pops -> actually, it was pretty much any frozen treat that came in a plastic -> those super big otter-pop-like popsicles i would get in gas station quick-marts on road trips (the blue ones that were bubblegum flavored) -> or better yet, those asian popsicles i'd have to snap in half before eating. voilà.
the public is wonderfully tolerant; it forgives everything except genius.
