the heat's back in socal, and the cold, wet, gloomy mornings of a few weeks back seem months old. it's hot, and i watch the local thermometer on my computer descend from 93 to 85 to 78 degrees fahrenheit. it's a warm evening and only underworld's trim correctly advises that i pull up a chair and unwind. my room is stuffy, my head feels heavy, and the slow and steady hum of my mini box-fan competes for audio dominance with the chill tunes my speakers push out. consecutive days of poolside reading, beach reading, swimming, and more poolside reading has left me with the kind of tan that says, "yup, you've seen me in videos." this weekend's taste of summer has made me anxious, yet sad that there are still nine more weeks of school to go before i can feign freedom.
over a month has passed since my previous post on super-bowl sunday, and with it, passed super tuesday, passed my sufferable academic quarter, and passed my much-welcomed and anticipated spring recess. school however, is back in session and despite the excitement i once held for this new quarter, this new day, this week's unending book of dense rhetoric and psycho-babbling verbal-masturbation still sits before me, destined to remain unfinished by tuesday. the air is too thick and stuffy to read in... or perhaps it's the material. either way, there really aren't any good excuses that might offer rescue tonight, and i have to trudge on. heat, she move up the street in waves. it'll be summer soon; not soon enough.
it is always the unreadable that occurs.
